There is no convenient wall, fence or even hedge here and so there were many, many "falling incidents" when I was trying to sit on the sign outside.
I had a good look around inside and examined the font - it's rather nicely carved.
This St Mary's has an amazing, stepped tower and a thatched roof so I asked Uncle Les to take an extra photo of it (and being generous, I allowed him to take it without ME in it!). [The tower is based on a Mesopotamian ziggurat design, Big Ted.]
But why's the village called Burgh St Peter when the church is a St Mary? [There was originally another church in the village, but this is now in ruins. Presumably it was dedicated to St Peter, Big Ted]
