Another nice church in a village with a funny name (there are a few of these around here), but sadly it was closed. If we'd gone on the first Wednesday of the month we could have looked around and had tea and cakes too. I've spoken to my team about this poor scheduling in the past.
This church was built in 1923 to replace the old church [prob'ly a St Mary's too] which was so badly damaged by the earthquake of 1884 that it had to be demolished in 1915. This is the same earthquake that demolished the church at Virley (see Salcott cum Virley).
