Big Ted visits Bisley
Added on 20 July 2024
Dear Reader,
I've been away on holiday again for a few days. This time I stayed in Bisley in Gloucestershire. This is a very nice Cotswold-y village, but it is a bit hilly. The important thing is that it's got a pub called The Bear Inn which I just HAD to see - because, as you should have noticed (and if you haven't, what have you been doing?), I'm a bear and it's the Bear Inn and it would be rude not to. Uncle Les took my photo outside to prove that I found it. There was also a Bear House - I don't think this is a house for bears, but who knows.
I visited six new St Mary's churches about which I've written about on my Gloucestershire page. I would have visited more but first it was sunny, then it was rainy and cold, then it was rainy and not quite so cold and then it wasn't rainy (but still not very warm). And finally, it got quite sunny and hot, at which point we gave up. Splendid fur is fine if it's cold ('specially with an added hand-knitted cardigan), not so good if it's damp ('cos the fur gets soggy and requires a warm radiator to sit on to dry off) and can be quite unbearable if it's hot and sunny (d'you see what I did there).
Also, I've been told that 1,000 is my absolute limit of St Mary's to visit so I thought I'd sneak up on that total very slowly - that way I get to have lots of holidays getting there!
Love from
Big Ted
PS I also met another bear, I've added him to my Bears I Have Met page.
