Travels of a Bear (with splendid fur!)

News from Plumtree!

Added on 31 July 2022

Big Tod reading a bookI see my distant cousin Big Tod has come out of his two-year-long COVID hibernation and is now taking on his new role (that's my OLD role) of looking after the children in the Children's Corner at St Mary's in Plumtree. That's him in the picture on the left.

Big Ted reading his sums bookHis reading's not up to much tho' - "The Beginner's Bible for Toddlers" - you wouldn't catch me reading a book for toddlers! Maybe it's typical of the state of antipodean ursine education (#snigger!).

I'm currently reading "Hard Sums for Clever Bears". When I've finished that I've got the next volume waiting, it's called "More Hard Sums for Even Clevererer Bears". It looks very exciting. You can see me on the right.

If you click on the pictures you'll see bigger versions which will help you to compare our differences. As we're distant cousins, there aren't that many differences (other than our choice of reading material obvs!) - of course my fur is far more spendid, my ears more admirable and everyone says I have a MUCH cuter nose [When you say "everyone", Big Ted, who exactly do you mean?].

P.S. You can read more about Big Tod in What's a Doppelgänger?

P.P.S. I've had a thunk... Maybe the "...Bible for Toddlers" that Big Tod is reading is actually something to do with "Little Tods". After all, I had a Little Ted, p'raps Big Tod has a lot of Little Tods (i.e. Toddlers - geddit!) that he's reading to. That's actually a bit of a scary thought; I wonder where they've come from! I'm not sure that a "...Bible for Teddlers" would work either 'cos that's not actually a word.

Big Ted's paw printhappy reading,
love from Big Ted
